Roanoke County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody or release, post bond, release a person, or retrieve official booking records. Direct those questions to the government office that holds the relevant record.

County JustFOIA public-records portal
Use Jail Inmate Records to identify the appropriate jail-record channel. For an existing County-held record, the County public-records page and JustFOIA portal explain the request route. A request should reasonably identify the existing record, such as the person’s name and a known date or booking number. The County uses an actual-cost process and may provide an estimate or request a deposit when applicable.
Warrant questions go to the Roanoke County Police Warrants Division, not to this service. The division is at 5925 Cove Road, Roanoke, VA 24019, and can be reached at 540-777-8617, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The after-hours non-emergency number is 540-562-3265. Use 911 for an emergency.
Different questions need different official systems:
- For current County-Salem custody or a recent local booking, use the official inmate inquiry. The home page explains its search fields and the difference between a booking and a court result.
- For a person who may be in regional custody, use the Western Virginia Regional Jail inquiry. It is a separate current-custody channel.
- For a local-jail status-change notification, use Virginia Jail VINE. It is an alert service, not a booking-record or court-result search.
- For a warrant-status question, use the Police Warrants Division contact above. The Wanted Fugitives page explains the local confirmation path and its limits.
- For a court outcome or later case event, start with Virginia Case Status and Information, then use the appropriate clerk when needed. The Roanoke County General District Court clerk is 540-387-6168, and the Circuit Court clerk is 540-387-6205.
- For a person in state custody or supervision, search the Virginia Department of Corrections locator. It is not a fresh County booking tool.
- For a federal inmate, use the Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator. For qualifying immigration custody, use the ICE Online Detainee Locator; neither replaces the local jail record.
